Service Description

The NHS Health Check is a check-up of your overall health. It can tell you whether you're at higher risk of getting certain health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and stroke. In the appointment we will perform a cholesterol test, blood pressure assessment and identify a number of lifestyle factors, which may make you more prone to developing a cardio-vascular disease. The results are instant and you will leave the appointment all your results, helping you make informed decisions on any lifestyle changes you may wish to make. If we identify more serious risk factors, we can send your results straight to your GP who will invite you in to discuss possible treatment/support options. This service is free of charge on behalf of the NHS. It is available to people age 40-74, who are not currently on medication for any cardio-vascular diseases.
